Shower Melts
We were away on the weekend and our son picked up a bit of a cold. If you’ve been around little boys, they’re not the best at being sick, and even worse, where does all that snot come from?!
I made these little shower melts, they’re super strong and whether you’re stuffed up from allergies or a cold, it’ll clear you out!
I decided to make them in a cute pan, they made 4 disks and a small puck.
The recipe I used was:
1 cup Baking Soda
1/2 cup Sea Salt
2 teaspoons of water
2 tsp menthol crystals, crushed
15 drops Peppermint dōTERRA essential oil
15 drops Spearmint dōTERRA essential oil
10 drops Lavender dōTERRA essential oil
10 drops Lemon dōTERRA essential oil
Instructions
Sift together Baking Soda & Sea Salt, set aside.
In a separate bowl, add water and crushed menthol crystals to melt crystals as they are more potent when dissolved. Once crystals are dissolved, add essential oils.
* You can add Eucalyptus or Wintergreen if making these for adults, these oils are too potent for children’s lungs *
Add liquids to dry mixture and mix well. Mixture should hold together when squeezed without crumbling but should not appear wet at all. You may need to add slightly more water if it hasn’t achieved this consistency yet.
Quickly push mixture into molds, pressing firmly and set aside until dry, minimum 24 hours.
When dry, remove and store in air tight container.
Try this recipe with other oils!
